17th May 2024 Helping Hands
Year 1 were joined by parents and helpers to make their 'lunch boxes', as part of our Design Technology unit 'Pirate Paddy's Packed Lunch Problem'. The children had explored different materials and designed their own lunch box, which had to meet certain criteria. After making the lunch boxes, they were then tested to see if they were waterproof, and if they were strong enough to go across a rope.
A huge thank you to the Year 1 parents and helpers. The results were amazing.
Wilderness Foundation May 2024
On Friday 10th May, fifty-two very excited children from EYFS and Year 1 set off on a visit to the Wilderness Foundation in Chelmsford. The children enjoyed pond dipping and found a variety of different pond creatures in their nets. They also went insect hunting in the woods, and found worms, woodlice, millipedes, slugs and snails. The children also had a fabulous time building dens, which were tested to see how waterproof they were. Fortunately, nobody ended up too wet! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to the parents and other helpers who came with us. Miss Faux and Mrs Vigar
Helping hands 26th March 2024
Year 1 had Helping Hands this morning. We painted flowers and Easter eggs with watercolours and so did our Mums and Dads. We worked hard looking at the different shapes and colours to produce some lovely pictures. Thank you to all the grown ups who came to help.
